We all love extremely clear and smooth display when it comes to viewing photos, videos or gaming. In recent times, the hours put in by graphics developers have produced some of the best displays yet. 4K is linked to the resolution of the monitor. Basically, 4K has 4096 x 2160 pixels. This is the standard; however, 4K UHD (Ultra-High Definition) has 3840 x 2160 pixels. The bottom point is that 4K displays feature a lot more pixels than any other displays and, as a result, the image clarity is in finer detail, greater texture and very smooth.
Thanks to increased development of 4K monitor, their prices are not as astronomical as they once were. Below are three 4K displays that should definitely be on your preference list if you are looking to buy one.
- SAMSUNG U32D970Q
Arguably the best in this list is the Samsung U32D90Q. The 32-inch monitor has a resolution of 3840 x 2160 pixels. It is of very high quality with a broad, heavy, metallic stand that is immaculately engineered so that the panel is planted, making it classier. Also, it offers the chance to mount it on a wall, with the wall mounting bracket included in the box.
Input is by real buttons that are easy to understand. Calibration controls are precise and offer basic options such as color and sharpness, as well as advanced options. The huge screen helps a lot because a 4K resolution on a small screen would make texts extremely small and make you squint a lot.
Overall, it has excellent image quality.
The downside of this monitor is that its sharpness is not that good, has poor contrast and well, it is pretty expensive.
- ASUS PB287Q
This particular monitor is a 4K display to be praised. It is a 28-inch monitor with 3840 x 2160 pixels. It handles games very well with a 1ms (GTG) response time, which should not come as a surprise given ASUS’ credibility in the gaming world.
Images come out as more life-like due to high contrast ratio.
It has an ergonomic stand with tilt and height adjustment functionality. Overall, this is not a perfect machine but the images it produces are of top quality, even perfect I would say.
It is affordable and with its functionality, your value for money is positively felt.
On the downside though, it has a lackluster design, has poor navigation features and more disturbingly, does not do well under sunlight and, therefore, has a ‘blindspots’ effect on the viewer.
- ACER B286HK
It is also a 28-inch 3840 x 2160 pixels monitor. If you could describe the image quality of this monitor in one word, it would have to be: Sharp. With the resolution and good dark and light gray scale performance, the image quality is as good as you will get. Fast pixel response and input lag times give it an incredibly solid gaming experience. It has a lot of video input options and settings to fine-tune according to your needs.
It has an ergonomic stand.
On the downside, it has very narrow viewing angles that make the picture skewed.
It is very affordable as well.
The Samsung is very good but the Price will probably ward off many potential buyers. It is a good choice though if your pocket is big enough. The ASUS is just about perfect and is a good get for anyone. The Acer is also okay but personally, I think the first two are better.
