The meeting of Shide's Trade Union was held on 11 May 2005. Mr. Li Lingui, Chairman of the union, chaired this meeting. 37 members of the union attended this meeting.

Mr. Li first conveyed the message of the Enlarged Conference of the Party Committee of Shide Group held on 27 Apr 2005. This conference has made an instruction that all members and cadres should establish a working spirit and give full support to the work of the union. As a result, more committee members were added and Office of Shide Trade Union was set up as well, so as to better serve the staff of Shide.

Three persons were elected, namely, Mr. Huang Dehua, Deputy Secretary of the Party Committee of Shide Group and Director of the Office of the Board of Directors; Mr. Zhao Qingwai, Director of the Office of Shide Group; and Wu Jia'en from the international trade company of the group. They were elected as the union’s Vice Chairman, Office Director and Publicity Committee Member respectively.

An introduction of the recent work of the union was made in the meeting. The work included a research on the execution of the staff contract, the setting up of Fan's Association, as well as encouraging members to take part in cultural activities such as 'Dalian Walking Convention' and '1 July' singing contest.
