At 2 p.m on 19 May, four people from DuPont in the United States, the main sponsor of Shide Football Club, paid a visit to the training base of the club. They had a sharing with the high officials of Shide Group and Shide Football Club.

DuPont is a global enterprise on scientific research. It has a history of more than 200 years. Its main businesses include chemicals, materials and energy, chemical technology, communications, and safety and security. It has become one of the most innovative companies in the world. It has a good customer base and many commodities have the ‘DuPont’ brand. From 2000 onwards, DuPont has been the main sponsor for the club for four years.

The visitors from DuPont included Mr. E Bryan Snell, President of DuPont Titanium Technologies; Mr. Chen Xian, General Business Manager in Asian Pacific; Mr. Chen Fuheng, General Business Manager in China/Hong Kong; as well as Mr. Zhou Ming, Account Manager. Mr. Sui Xinmian, Vice President of Shide Group; Mr. Lin Lefeng, General Manager of Shide Football Club, Mr. Lian Weicai, Deputy General Manager, Mr. Furado, the main coach of Shide Football Club, and Mr. Ji Mingyi, Captain of the team, had a fruitful sharing with the guests. During the sharing, both sides reviewed the enthusiastic support from DuPont to the club. DuPont was very satisfied with the result that the club has achieved in 2005 and would continue to support the team and wished that the team would achieve even better result this year.

Both sides then met all players and watched a part of the training. Later they reviewed the awards and photos of the club in the past eleven years. The guests gave an armillary sphere as a souvenir to Mr. Lin who in return gave them giftss such as the team’s clothes, album of the seven championships, and football with signatures. The No.88 and No.99 team clothes were very attractive.

Afterwards, both sides held a short press conference.

Mr. Snell said in the press conference, “Our products are in fact closely connected with sports. Our company support sports worldwide. And in Asia Pacific, Shide is our sole partner.” He thought that football has been developing very fast in China and Shide Football Club is one of the strongest team in Asia. The passion of Shide people on football has given him a good impression and brought about the partnership. After four years’ cooperation, both sides have upgraded their brands. Thus, Mr. Snell firmly believed that they had made the right choice to cooperate with Shide.
