In the afternoon of Dec 22, Shide Corporation and the Sina Happy Homes jointly organized the conference to discuss the matters relating to energy-saving for better green homes and environment. The event was held at Beijing Fu Li Regent Hotel. The event also included the selection of most energy-saving homes. The results were publicized through the press. The selection was based on the voting of the consumers, the internet users and the experts through the internet. As 30% of our energy is used in the construction, and the windows and doors comprise 50% energy used in the construction. So the forum was mainly focused on the design and installation of more energy-saving windows and doors. Shide corporation wants more people to know the importance of construction energy-saving, good energy-saving windows and doors as well as environmental protection. Shide and the Sina Happy Homes would present a trophy to the winner of selecting the Most Energy-saving Home, and the details would be displayed at the special website of Shide.

The event also attracted the coming of the representatives of more than 50 mass media. Shide’s sales president Zhang Jie and the Sina Happy Homes Corporation marked the opening ceremony of the selection of the Most Energy-saving Homes.

 

During the occasion, Shide’s sales president Zhang Jie said that Shide hoped all the people in China not just to have their home, but also very energy-saving. Shide and the Sina Web had organized the selection of the Most Energy-saving Homes in more than 140 cities. Shide, as the largest chemical corporation in China, was really a caring and benevolent company because she only did the things benefiting to the whole society. And Shide’s aesthetic energy-saving windows and doors did satisfy all the demand of the consumers and the requirements of the construction companies. Zhang Jie also said that our thermal, ventilation, air-conditioning and lighting systems accounted for 27% of the total energy consumption, and in comparison with European countries, our household units consumed 23 times more in thermal systems. As China government was launching “The Eleventh Five Years Plan” to build an energy-saving in construction society. And the energy consumption of all the construction could reach 40% of the total energy consumption. And the traditional metal products were poor heat conductors but the new PVC profiles can complied with all the construction requirements. If PVC was 1 unit, steel would have the value of 350 units. As the PVC profiles doors and windows were poor heat conductors, they could keep the room temperature more economically, i.e. less energy was used in the air-conditioning. So choosing the right windows and doors were crucial to our energy-saving, i.e. save money. Through this big event, the developers, the industrialists and the mass media should know the importance of energy-saving products, and more about the environmental protection.

 

The chief editor of the Sina Happy Homes Yang Xi said that we have recently heard the key words like Copperhagen, Low Carbon, and Green. All meant Better and Greener Living. Our real estate and construction companies were trying to make real contributions by building energy-saving homes and promoting the energy-saving in construction. Yang worked in a green media and wanted all homes to be green.

 

Dupont Titanium Dioxide Technology Co Ltd’s general manager Lu Ming-lan said that currently the real estates market was very important to all the citizens in China. If the construction industry could use more energy-saving products, the effects would be very significant. And the selection of the Energy-saving Homes was a good start and followed very well the theme of the Copperhagen conference. And Lu hoped the event would set a good example towards more popular awareness of energy-saving.
